Mama Praia
C’est en 2018 que Marie apprend les bases de la fabrication avec un cordonnier. Elle installe alors son atelier à quelques mètres de lui pour continuer à apprendre, et peu à peu, elle créé sa première collection. En 2020, suite du confinement, elle décide de déménager à Lisbonne pour plus d'espace et de soleil. Son compagnon Alexandre rejoint également le projet à plein temps, transformant l'entreprise en une véritable aventure familiale.
Mama Praia se définit comme une marque éco-responsable. Les cuirs utilisés proviennent des meilleures tanneries européennes. La plupart d'entre eux sont tannés à l'aide d'extraits de châtaigne.
In 2018, Marie kicked off her sandal-making journey. In a week, a shoemaker taught her the basics. She set up her workshop just a few meters away from him to continue learning the craft. Gradually, she emancipated herself and created her first collection. Fast forward to 2020, after the lockdown, she packed up and headed to Lisbon for a fresh start. That's when it really became a "family affair". That's why Alexandre decided to join the project full-time. The leathers they use come from the best European tanneries. Most of them are vegetable tanned, courtesy of chestnut extract. Picture this: top-notch leather with a killer patina as it ages.
